For Love and Liberty
"For Love and Liberty", designed by Christy Whitley in Los Angeles, is the newest division at Johnny Was. It launched its first collection in August 2006. The name quite accurately describes the look of the line. Inspired by 16th century Goth, romantic French imagery and flirty styling, "For Love and Liberty" will make any woman feel feminine and unique. The clothing has contrasting images which create an all around rock n roll appeal. You'll see skulls wrapped with roses, daggers and crowns, even handwritten flirty notes to look as if they were scribbled on the fabric. This look is integrated in both the silks and tees. This diverse line started with tees and silks, and grew for fall 2006, adding fur trimmed hoodies and jackets. To give this line its luxurious feel everything is made of natural fabrics. "For Love and Liberty" is for any woman who wants to feel pretty and unique, and can be found in the finest boutiques in 40 countries around the world, such as, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Tokyo, London, Berlin, and Hong Kong.
